By far one of the best sites you can get listed on and look for info is the Africa Overland Site.  Its got lots of data and trip info on past, current and future trips: http://www.africa-overland.net/ 

The Horizons Unlimited site is more for bikers but has 4x4 section in it too.  This site has a VERY comprehensive list of forums and threads and people are posting information to it all the time, especially on things like border crossings, travel tips, news, equipment, routes and experiences along the way: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hubb/
