Daily Diary

There are some neat ways to stay connected online with a variety of people........we don't plan to keep updating this website and we don't want the trip to be too focused on "keeping the website up to date".....that's not why we are going on the trip.  Instead we plan to use a mix of media to keep people up to date on our progress.  In summary we plan to use the following means for quick and brief updates on our progress:

1) Daily Blog - we plan to write posts to the blog as emails (off line) and then email them to the blog - this is a far simpler exercise and allows you to document the trip without the need to be constantly visiting internet cafes etc....  To visit our Blog click daily Blog

2) Twitter - We are also going to "tweet" as and when we can, so if you are a fellow Twittererer then follow us by visiting us at Twitter  We have linked our Twitter site to our Facebook status so a large group of people can track progress.  This can be done by texts on a mobile phone with local or world SIM cards.  This again removes the need to frequently visit WIFI spots etc.....

We found Twitter a very useful means of staying in touch.  To that end we have created some Twitter lists of other people involved in Overland Trips of all kinds (Oz, Asia, Americas, polar, sea, RTW etc..) including guides, news, photography, film and 4x4 Tweeps.  See them below or visit the Langebaan Sunset Twitter site to connect.
